Theatre Educator

At Lincoln High School in San Jose, I'm preparing for my 29th year during the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. My passion lies in guiding students through the multifaceted world of theatre. I teach a variety of courses, delving into areas such as multi-level acting, technical theatre, and production techniques.

Our program is built on a foundation of humility and strong theatre ethics, fostering a safe and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. We believe in continuous learning, constantly exploring new information and techniques together. While I've taught all grade levels, my particular affinity for the craft truly shines in high school musical theatre.

Artistic director

The Lincoln Theatre Guild is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Lincoln High School Theatre program. Our mission is to ensure the students have the best possible resources and opportunities to learn and grow in the performing arts. As a core part of the Guild, I collaborate closely with a board of committed parents, offering the necessary knowledge and information to keep all theatre productions running smoothly.

This involves a range of responsibilities, from carefully selecting each season's plays and musicals to making key decisions about the director and design elements. My role is to provide the insights and data that empower the Guild to make informed choices, ultimately creating a vibrant and educational experience for every student involved in the theatre program. We believe in fostering a supportive environment where young talent can truly shine.

Production designer

Drawing on decades of experience across hundreds of musical and theatrical productions, I've honed a unique expertise in resourceful problem-solving. A consistent challenge has been achieving professional-quality aesthetics within the constraints of a limited budget, particularly for intimate thrust stage settings.

My husband and I have been integral to the visual storytelling of Lincoln Theatre Guild productions. We've designed costumes for the majority of shows and, since I began teaching, have designed and crafted props for every single production. These skills have been meticulously refined and perfected through years of collaborative effort, allowing us to consistently deliver impactful designs that elevate each performance.
